Sovereign University maintains a campus that is free from controlled substances and illicit recreational drugs. We require that our campus and interactions, whether in-person or virtual, be unencumbered, not obstructed by mind altering substances and drug cultures. We do not discriminate admittance to the University nor community on the basis of having a history or current medical challenge with controlled or illicit substances, but we require that our premises and community be kept free of poisons and other toxicology.
Our policies for regulations on drugs adhere to the laws of the state in which our students and faculty are present and engaged with Sovereign University. We welcome options for support and remediation where appropriate and seek to maintain decriminalized approaches to campus safety. The University and Sovereign System is prepared, however, to involve the entitled law enforcement if the safety of students, faculty, and community are ever at risk due to an occurrence or recurrence of drug use/involvement. Currently, there are several social issues that create otherwise avoidable engagement with harmful substances and behaviors involving drugs. As with our policies on human trafficking, we have a Zero-Tolerance Policy for the trafficking of drugs, controlled substances, toxicology, and any material that would be considered a biological hazard. Below is a snapshot of the knowledge on the degenerative effect of drugs on Sovereignty.
